Created for my senior thesis project, this collection consisted of three complete outfits all designed, patterned and handmade by me.
For this project, I worked with models to craft the garments to their specific measurements.
All of the fabrics I used were upcycled from thrifted sheets, table cloths, and other linens.Â
All of the garments were professionally finished, including flat felled seams.
Multiple garments incorporated hand smocking, a time-intensive technique that creates texture and elasticity.
Costume Crafts
A turtle I hand sewed to be used as a hairclip in Waitress.
I spent two summers working as a costume crafts artisan for Broadway Sacramento Music Circus. While there I practiced skills like painting, steaming, weathering and dying.
Rhinestone fireballs on Elvis' jacket in The Million Dollar Quartet.
Shoe tassels for Hello Dolly.
Boots I painted for Spongebob.
A dress that I rhinestoned for In The Heights.
I designed the repeating pattern for this fabric, then carved and printed it using linocut.
